Great service. Needed to replace a toilet and sink unit. Got a free quote (which is rare in London!), the contractor (Colin) was clear and answered all my questions. The office staff was equally helpful in getting the job organised. The work took a bit longer then expected as the unit had to be cut to fit. He took his time and great care in making the new unit fit seamlessly and I am overjoyed with the results. Thank you!

Appalling service. After explaining the job to 2 different people in detail, I booked for an electrician to come and change a few pendant lights to down lights. The customer service team refused to give me an actual quote but explained that I could work it out with the electrician who would be doing the job based on the hourly rate. They then told me to go out and buy my own fixtures and bulbs because it would be more beneficial. They gave me a window of 12 - 5 when the electrician would be around to do the job so I re-arranged meetings and appointments to accommodate and be available. No one turned up, and I get a call at 5:10 from the electrician, who had no idea about the job, and after I explained it once again, told me he would be there in an hour to "look at it" as if I haven't just waited all day for him to show up. Then he tried to explain to me that it will be a "huge job, can't be done, won't work" and gave every excuse to book another appointment for someone to come out and properly quote it. Absolute waste of time and energy. Complete disrespect for other people's time and extremely unprofessional. Don't bother.

I am a landlord of a single rental property who has used PGS numerous times in the past and has spent over £1000 this year alone using their services for various jobs in the house. However, I have just had to have my EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) certificate which they charged me £312 for, I have since realised the standard rate for a 3-4 bedroom house is £149. The report came back unsatisfactory and they sent me a quote for remedial work totaling £1030 + VAT. Already, alarm bells were ringing because my mum had recently had the same work done on her property for a few hundred quid. PGS then called me up 30 minutes later and asked if I was happy with the quote, something they have never done before, and asked would they like me to see if they can make it cheaper by taking out any unnecessary work? Why were they sending me a quote of work I didn't need in the first place? I have since gone to an electrical company directly who have quoted me £480 + VAT. I'm a long-standing customer of PGS but they sent me a quote containing around £500 of unnecessary work. At the end of the day, they're just the middle man between you and the trader and I won't be using them again.

Very uncomfortable experience. I had a blocked drain in my kitchen and the plumber turned up with a plunger. Even with my limited plumbing and know how I had attempted on numerous occasions to sort the issue out myself with a plunger but the problem was obviously further down the pipe work. My wife asked if an electrical snake would be better for the plumber to agree with a charge of £195 + VAT. It was not made clear this was on top of the £110+ VAT to sort the issue in the first hour I was quoted. After the visit a pool of dirty water was left in the cupboard under the sink then I get invoiced a bill for £394. It appears the plumber quoted £295 to use the snake which my wife and myself did not hear (£195+ VAT) I will state again. Even Dyno jet don't charge this price and they will use the snake as a matter of course with no extra charge for £195.
