Emergency lighting is an asset to your work space and is critical for safe movement around your building during normal and emergency situations.How often should emergency lighting be tested?BS5266 Pt1 recommends that the following testing is completed • Daily – A visual check for operation and that operational illuminated indicators are lit.• Monthly – A brief functional or “flick” test of lighting to check the emergency lighting illuminated with the power isolated, and returns to normal once power is re-instated.• 6 Months – A 1 hour discharge test for a 3 hour emergency lighting system.• Annual – A full 3 hour discharge test and visual inspection of the emergency lighting system on site.All results from the emergency lighting testing and any faults should be logged in your site fire safety log book under the emergency lighting section. We recently had extensive electrical works and upgrades carried out at our offices by Nathan and his team. Despite some challenges that they were met with, they dealt with everything efficiently and professionally and we were kept fully informed on progress as they were going along. The whole team were friendly and polite throughout and were also very tidy workers. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and they are very deserving of a five star review.
