Recently settled out of court for a job at my rental property where he suggested an unnecessary safety inspection which he failed. He then quoted for the job of restoring the property to electrical safety and whilst doing it managed to find other “essential works”. These were carried out without my knowledge or prior approval. I was not presented with an invoice until 6 months after a job which should have taken less than a week and at a new price 300% higher than the agreed quote! During my dispute with him ( which dragged on for 18 months) I had a subsequent inspection carried out which revealed he had left the property in an unsafe condition with important safety issues overlooked including work highlighted by him as necessary on his own fail sheet, not done but still charged for. I am left with serious concerns about his competence and honesty.
