We hired MHY Electrical to update almost our entire electrical system, including moving many sockets out of skirting boards, figuring out what was where and installing a brand-new fuse box. Most areas needed a full rewire and there were a variety of other ‘interesting’ aspects that revealed themselves over the course of the work and needed sorting out. Mike’s attention to detail was fantastic, with much thought given to how each aspect of the work would affect the rest of the system. He gave us step by step explanations of what he was planning to do and why, and what the outcomes would be. As we were also living in the house as the work progressed, Mike made sure that there were always rooms we could access and use every evening, along with temporary electrics overnight as needed. The work areas were kept neat and tidy and cleaned up at the end of each day. Every hole was filled and sanded, and every floorboard safely fixed back down. We would have no hesitation in recommending MHY Electrical to anyone. In addition to all of the above – as I have recently passed my City & Guilds Domestic Electrical Installer exams – I also got some great, hands-on work experience myself! Mike is a former teacher and his patience, encouragement and clear instructions gave me great deal of confidence and helped me understand a lot of the practical aspects to electrical work that they just don’t teach you in a classroom!

We booked Mike in to install additional electrical sockets in our garage. Mike was professional in his work and provided helpful suggestions about the best location and height to site the new sockets. He also was able to fit in some additional work repairing a faulty electrical kitchen socket and two light sockets at the same time. I would definitely recommend MHY electrical services for any work you are considering and will hopefully be using Mike again for future work. It’s worth noting however, that Mike is extremely busy, although that is only an additional evidence of someone who does a good job!

I recently used MHY Electrical to fit a series of new sockets throughout my house. Mike (who is clearly a bit of a perfectionist) was excellent throughout, with excellent communication and impeccable work. As someone who is relatively new to DIY I very much appreciated Mike talking me through exactly what he was doing – it’s nice to learn, if only on a superficial level. Highly recommended.

First class service from this firm. I called them on Saturday evening when the lights in my elderly parent's house had fused. The electrician came round very quickly and fixed the problem and came back the following day to fit a much-needed new kitchen light. The price was very reasonable indeed. I really appreciate the kindness and the prompt and efficient service. I highly recommend this firm.

Mike has been absolutely fantastic. I got in him to do a full rewire of our bungalow, plus quite a lot of other bells and whistles. The job was far from straightforward and other electricians didn't want to touch it with a bargepole. Mike answered straight away and booked us in as soon as he was able. The job constantly evolved as Mike was working on it and he was very understanding with my constantly changing requirements, as we were also knocking down walls and completely remodelling the bare bones of the house while the rewire was ongoing. I should note as well that Mike did a brilliant job filling in all the channeled walls and holes that were created during the work. Thank you again so much and we will be happily using you again in the future. 😄
